Game On: Sports News, Highlights & Commentary

To be a future first-ballot Hall of Famer as an undersized defensive tackle, you gotta lift like a madman.

However, former Los Angeles Rams’ DT Aaron Donald’s workouts would put the Marvel Cinematic Universe to shame–just ask current Rams’ EDGE (and noted very strong person) Jared Verse. Verse got the opportunity to work out with the legend over the offseason, and he spoke about his experience to reporters yesterday.

First of all, all circuit workouts in this lift is pure madness. Four cardio workouts to WARM UP, and THEN you start your circuit of just arms. Which makes sense because Aaron Donald’s arms are MASSIVE, you only get those by training like a Super Saiyan. Donald’s workouts are something of NFL legend, even Matthew Stafford has talked about the time Donald made a Make-A-Wish kid who wanted to work out with Donald vomit.

You know you’re cooked when Donald’s wife came in and just started laughing during the lift. My vision would look like stadium pulse in CFB 26 on 3rd and long against Alabama, nowhere to go but down–painfully.

Here’s the video of the two Pro Bowlers working out, which is really cool. Getting a legend of the team to take you under their wing like that and show you what it means to be great, and the work it takes to become truly great is something I’m sure Verse won’t forget. For Donald, it’s about passing on a legacy, something that I think really matters when establishing team culture in the NFL.

With that being said…I’d try the workout. Would I survive to the end? That depends, but I’d give it my all.
