    I normally go to the nail salon for a gel manicure when I don’t have the energy to do it at home. 

    Here’s the kicker — I never pay to get them removed. Either I will wait until they pop off or remove them with a business card. 😝 (Terrible, I know!) 

    After this my nails are thin and the nail bed is sensitive. To start the healing process first I will cut my nails down, file the edges, remove the cuticles and then buff the nail.

    After that I’ll apply BGLH whipped shea butter to my hands (any scent I have on hand), massage it around my cuticle line and rub it into my nail bed to heal the nail skin and nail plate.

    This is week 1 after removing my gel manicure. As you can see my nails are still rough.

    Nails are made up of keratin and skin cells, so shea butter is a staple for my manis and pedis because it includes a high percentage of therapeutic fatty acid.

    This is my nails, on the second week after removing my gel manicure.

    With BGLH whipped shea butter my nails bounce back stronger and healthier. My cuticles aren’t torn, my nail plates aren’t chipped and my nails grow back even.
