Traffic remains backed up at South Cobb Drive and Pearl Street after a crash involving a school bus and multiple vehicles.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A school bus carrying children was involved in a crash Monday morning in Cobb County, but officials confirmed no injuries were reported.

The crash happened at the intersection of South Cobb Drive and Pearl Street, where a Jeep and at least two other vehicles collided with the school bus, according to 11Alive Traffic Trackers monitoring GDOT cameras.

911 dispatchers confirmed to 11Alive that no children were hurt, and no injury transports were made from the scene.

Footage from GDOT cameras showed students standing in a grassy area near the crash site before they were safely transferred to another school bus. According to 11Alive Traffic Tracker Doug Turnbull, the second bus continued the route and took students to school. 11Alive is working to confirm which school the bus was serving.

The intersection remained shut down as of mid-morning, even after the damaged Jeep was loaded onto a tow truck. Crews were seen clearing debris from the roadway, and at least one other vehicle appeared to be heavily damaged.

Drivers were advised to avoid South Cobb Drive and Pearl Street. 11Alive Traffic Tracker Rachel Cox-Rosen suggested Atlanta Road or Powder Springs Street as alternate routes.

COBB COUNTY ALERT: A major crash involving a school bus and a jeep has shut down the intersection of S Cobb Dr & Pearl St.
