    Key takeaways
    • Hibiscus tea is rich in antioxidants like beta-carotene and vitamin C, promoting overall health and liver function.
    • Regular consumption may assist with weight loss, lower blood pressure, and reduce cholesterol, though more research is needed.
    • Antioxidants in hibiscus tea can enhance skin health, improving texture and reducing fine lines by promoting collagen production.

In life, your diet is EVERYTHING. It is the key to remaining in shape and staying well with better immunity. What you grab and reach for in the kitchen has a direct impact on you at present AND in the future. Therefore, we must choose wisely. However, one fun drink that we absolutely love that is perfect for summer (and all year long); is tea! So then, read on to learn about 10 Benefits of Hibiscus Tea, a tasty and refreshing drink that can do wonders.

Let’s begin with the fact that this tea is chock full of antioxidants. Antioxidants such as beta-carotene, vitamin C and anthocyanin. Why can consuming such elements be good for you? Well, registered dietitian Beth Czerwony, RD, LD, was kind enough to share a few details about Hibiscus Tea. She reveals,

“Antioxidant-rich foods really help across the board with quite a few health conditions. Antioxidants destroy harmful molecules known as free radicals within your body. Hibiscus helps keep the liver healthy and keeps certain types of bacteria in check.”

Czerwony also mentions that hibiscus can help with weight loss, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. However, stressed that once again, we need more research to be sure. Several studies and clinical trials show a positive impact in these areas. But more experimentation and analysis will one day provide us with conclusive evidence.

What about skincare? How can drinking tea infused with Hibiscus help in this regard? Well, once again it comes down to the antioxidants. Researchers believe it is the antioxidants in hibiscus tea that may help promote healthy, youthful skin by reducing oxidative damage.

Less damage, equals healthier looking skin. Additionally, remember that hibiscus also contains Vitamin C. A vitamin that is often dubbed as a “holy grail” in skincare products. Vitamin C promotes collagen production, which can help to firm the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Therefore, in time you can help to improve your overall skin texture and give your skin a gorgeous, luminous GLOW.
