Sarah Lynn Weldon Adams was born May 11, 1965, in Meridan, Mississippi, to James Weldon, Jr. and Lillie Orean Jack Grady-Weldon. She was the 13th of fifteen siblings. She moved to Hazlehurst in 1972 with her family. She was a 1985 Telfair County High School Graduate in McRae, GA. She was employed by Absolute Care in Arkansas as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years.
- Church service: Active member and Missionary at Rehoboth Church of God in Christ, directed the Food Pantry Outreach Ministry.
- Career: Longtime Certified Nursing Assistant with Absolute Care and cook for the Mississippi County Sheriff Department.
- Community & hobbies: Loved cooking for needy families, fishing, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends.
- Survived by family: Spouse Jessie Lee Adams, multiple siblings, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many relatives.
She loved going to church and serving God. Her first church membership was the Macedonia Church of God in Christ in Lumber City. She later joined the Full Gospel Church of God in Lumber City, GA. Her final church membership was the
Rehoboth Church of God in Christ in Wilson, Arkansas, where she was a Missionary and the Director of Food Pantry Outreach Ministry. She loved to cook for the community and needy families. She enjoyed fishing and crocheting. And she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a cook for the Mississippi County Sheriff Department in Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her mother Lillie Orean Jack Grady-Weldon; her father James Weldon, Jr.; grandfather, Johnnie B. Jack; grandmother, Rose Mae Holmes Jack; sisters, Dorothy Sumlin and Shirley Harris; brothers: Champ, James Edward, Ecclesiastes Grady, Sammie Earl Ruffin, and Larry Grady; nephews, Malkeyto Hall, Gabriel Hall, and Jadian Bouie; one uncle, Otis Jack and wife Fannie Ruth; aunts, Ethel Boose and Bernice Jack.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her spouse, Jessie Lee Adams of Wilson, Arkansas; seven siblings and their spouses, John Grady of Hazlehurst, GA, Hazel (Sammy) Balcom and Lillie Grady Hall both of Atlanta, GA, Janice (Dean)
Conaway of Lumber City, GA, Arlene (Willie) Hunt of Hazlehurst, GA, Beverly (Jamie) of Dalmida, FL; Two aunts, Gloria Williams of Hazlehurst, GA and Susan Jackson of Arizona; seventeen nieces and nephews, thirty-seven great nieces and
nephews, a great host of other relatives and friends.
