Savannah Chatham County Public School System (SCCPS) Update:
- Two SCCPSS students — Re’Lynn Royal and Roman Caal Rax — advanced to the state poster competition.
- SCCPSS drivers and monitors voted to select the district’s entries from 13 submitted posters.
- The contest theme is Safe Rides, Everyday Heroes for the 2025-26 National School Bus Safety Week.
- State winners chosen this spring will advance to the national contest with winners announced summer 2026.
SCCPSS Student Artwork Advances to State Competition for National School Bus Safety Week
Poster artwork created by two SCCPSS students are being entered in a statewide competition for National School Bus Safety Week. Thousands of school districts in over 40 states participate in local and state-level competitions to select artwork that depicts school bus safety-related themes and encourages and promotes school bus safety. The winning posters are used to promote safer school transportation for everyone during each year’s National School Bus Safety Week.
There were 13 posters submitted to the SCCPSS Transportation Department – three from White Bluff Elementary School, and ten from the Early Learning Center at Henderson E. Formey, Jr. School. SCCPSS school bus drivers and monitors then voted to determine which artwork would be submitted to the state contest.
The top vote getters were first grader Re’Lynn Royal of the Early Learning Center
and Fifth grader Roman Caal Rax of White Bluff Elementary School.
The Poster Contest is the centerpiece of National School Bus Safety Week. The theme of the 2025-26 National School Bus Safety Week Poster Contest is: Safe Rides, Everyday Heroes.
Winning state posters will be selected later this spring and sent in to the national contest by mid-May. National winners will be notified and promoted over the Summer of 2026. Good Luck Re’Lynn and Roman!
