Real Estate News & Market Insights:

Key takeaways
  • Hailee Steinfeld is pregnant with her first child and is believed to be due in the coming weeks.
  • Hailee Steinfeld spent early pregnancy hunkering down at husband Josh Allen's custom Buffalo mansion with pool, pool house, and sport court.
  • The couple has returned to California, where Hailee Steinfeld may give birth at her 9,000 square foot Encino home with six bedrooms and eight bathrooms.
  • Josh Allen pulled his Dana Point beach house from sale after the pregnancy announcement; it sits in a guard-gated community with a private beach club.

“Sinners” was one of the big winners at the 2026 Oscars—but one member of the cast was noticeably absent from the prestigious awards ceremony: Hailee Steinfeld, who remained home with her husband, Josh Allen.

Steinfeld, 29, who is pregnant with her first child, chose to skip the red carpet event, where her hit movie was up for a record 16 awards, with her costar, Michael B. Jordan, revealing during his acceptance speech for best actor why she’d opted not to attend.

Pausing his speech to give a shout out to “Hailee at home,” Jordan, noted that the actress is “getting ready to have a baby right now.”

Buffalo Bills star Allen, 29, and Steinfeld have not yet shared their due date; however, the actress recently opened up about how she had been spending her pregnancy in a post on her newsletter, Beau Society.

The mother-to-be revealed that she had spent the first few months hunkering down at her husband’s home in Buffalo, NY, a stunning custom-built mansion he had erected on a parcel of land he bought in 2021 for the relatively low price of $500,000.

Located in the tony community of Orchard Park, approximately eight minutes from the Bills’ home field at Highmark Stadium, the home features a stunning swimming pool, a pool house, and a sport court that can be used for both basketball and tennis.

However, Steinfeld and Allen have since returned to California—where they both own homes—and where it’s thought that the actress will be welcoming her first child.

The actress bought her Golden State property, which is located in Encino, from rocker John Fogerty for $8 million in 2021.

The actress’ property spans an impressive 9,000 square feet and features six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Much like Allen’s abode in Buffalo, it has a sizable pool, which can be accessed via a motorized window wall between the main living area and the backyard.

Meanwhile, Allen holds the keys to a beautiful beach house in Dana Point, CA, which had had previously attempted to sell, listing it for $8.5 million in July 2025, just a few weeks after he and Steinfeld tied the knot.

However, after Steinfeld revealed that they were expecting their first baby together, Allen swiftly pulled the home from the market.

Allen snapped up the 2,808-square-foot property for $7.2 million in 2023 through a trust managed by his financial adviser, Troy Nunes. Allen is believed to have spent a considerable amount of time during the offseason at the abode, soaking up the warm weather after a traditionally frosty Buffalo winter.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom dwelling is located inside a “prestigious” guard-gated community that features its own private beach club—and proximity to a host of five-star resorts, including the Ritz-Carlton.

According to the listing, the property embodies “classic mid-century California architecture” and “is set behind the exclusive 24-hour guard-gated enclave of Monarch Bay.

“Positioned on one of the neighborhoods larger private lots, it offers exceptional potential in a highly sought-after coastal community.”

Surrounded by lush greenery, the modern pad welcomes guests with a black-and-white facade and gated entrance.

Steinfeld and Allen announced their pregnancy news to the world in December, when they shared a video of the NFL star kissing his wife’s bump in front of a snowy backdrop—which was later revealed to have been the Bills quarterback’s Buffalo home.

It’s thought that the actress is due to give birth in the coming weeks, leaving them with some time to come to grips with life as a family of three before Allen has to return to Buffalo for preseason training in the summer.

While Steinfeld was not there to witness the Oscars in person, her movie, “Sinners,” walked away with four awards, including Jordan’s win for Best Actor.

However, the movie missed out on what is arguably seen as the big-ticket win of the evening—the award for Best Picture, which was instead won by “One Battle After Another,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, and Teyana Taylor.
