What would you learn if you had the chance to start again?
For many people, later life brings the opportunity to explore new interests, develop skills, or pursue learning that may not have been possible earlier in life. At University of Limerick, Pathway Plus supports adults aged 50 and over who are curious about learning again whether for personal development, to reskill, or simply to explore something new.
Pathway Plus provides guidance on the wide range of flexible learning opportunities available at UL. These include short courses, part time postgraduate programmes and modular study options that allow people to learn at a pace that suits their lifestyle and commitments. Many options are delivered in blended or online formats, making it easier to balance learning with work, family and other interests.
As part of UL’s Age Friendly University commitment, the university actively works to make education accessible and welcoming for learners at all stages of life. This includes creating clear entry pathways and supportive environments for those who may not have studied for many years.
UL also offers learning opportunities specifically designed for adults who are interested in studying for personal enrichment. This programme is open to individuals who are retired or who simply wish to return to learning, and no prior formal qualifications are required.
Participants may enrol in one module per semester, with places allocated on a first come, first served basis. Participation in assessments is optional, allowing individuals to engage with learning in a way that suits their goals.
Through Pathway Plus, UL aims to make learning accessible, flexible and inspiring for those looking to reskill, upskill or simply stay curious at every stage of life.
