*Nicolas Cage is swinging into his first leading television role, and the early look at the project is already turning heads — literally, in two different color formats.

Prime Video has released the official trailer for “Spider-Noir,” a live-action series based on the Marvel comic “Spider-Man Noir,” set to launch globally on May 27, across more than 240 countries and territories. The series will also air on MGM+’s linear channel two days earlier, on May 25. In a first-of-its-kind viewing option, audiences can stream the show in either “Authentic Black & White” or “True-Hue Full Color” — a nod to the original comics, which were muted and largely monochromatic. Watch the new trailer above.

Cage stars as Ben Reilly, a weathered private investigator navigating 1930s New York who is drawn back into a complicated past following a deeply personal tragedy, all while serving as the city’s sole superhero. The series is a standalone story, and isn’t directly tied to or a continuation of any Sony or Marvel films.

The trailer made its world debut at CCXPMX26 — the largest pop culture festival in the world — drawing 2,100 fans to the Centro Banamex Convention Center in Mexico City. Cast members Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Jack Huston, and Karen Rodriguez joined co-showrunner Oren Uziel on stage to introduce the series, while Cage appeared via a special video greeting. Attendees also previewed an extended scene and collected five character-inspired badges designed by Mexican artist Jorge Molina, per the news release.

The ensemble features Emmy winner Lamorne Morris (“Fargo,” “New Girl”), Li Jun Li (“Sinners,” “Babylon”), Karen Rodriguez (“The Hunting Wives,” “Acapulco”), Abraham Popoola (“Atlas,” “Slow Horses”), SAG Award winner Jack Huston (“Boardwalk Empire,” “Day of The Fight”), and Emmy winner and Oscar nominee Brendan Gleeson (“The Banshees of Inisherin,” “Harry Potter”), among others.

Emmy-winning director Harry Bradbeer (“Fleabag,” “Killing Eve”) helmed the first two episodes. Co-showrunners Oren Uziel (“The Lost City,” “22 Jump Street”) and Steve Lightfoot (“Marvel’s The Punisher,” “Shantaram”) developed the project alongside the Oscar-winning “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” team of Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal. “Spider-Noir” is produced by Sony Pictures Television for MGM+ and Prime Video.
