SAVANNAH, Ga.-Championship season begins this week for Savannah State men’s & women’s track & field and men’s & women’s golf, while softball and baseball close out their regular seasons with road matchups this week. We’ll give all the details in our latest edition of “This Week In Tiger Athletics”.

Men’s & Women’s Track and Field

Head Coach Ted Whitaker and the Savannah State men’s & women’s track and field teams bring a close to their outdoor seasons this week as they will participate in the 2026 SIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The events will take place on Tuesday, April 21st–Thursday, April 23rd at the Sheila & Morris Cregger Track on the campus of the University of South Carolina in Columbia. All three days of events will be aired live on the SIAC Network at https://siacnetwork.tv/thesiac/.

Women’s Golf

The Savannah State women’s golf squad is in St. Augustine, Florida playing in the 2026 Peach Belt Conference Women’s Golf Championship which is taking place from Sunday, April 19th-Tuesday, April 21st at the famed King & Bear Golf Course at the World Golf Village.

Tiger men’s looks to bring home a championship this week as they will head to Tunica, Mississippi to take part in the 2026 SIAC Men’s Golf Championship. The three day event will take place on Monday, April 20th-Wednesday, April 22nd at the Tunica National Golf & Tennis Club.

Softball

Head Coach Amber Hallman and the Savannah State softball squad brings a close to the 2026 regular season this Wednesday, April 22nd as they will battle the Lady Panthers of Claflin University in a doubleheader starting at 2:00pm in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

The 2026 campaign comes to a close on this weekend for head coach Tino Burgos and the Savannah State baseball team as they will head to Jackson, Tennessee for a three-game SIAC series against Lane College. The action begins on Friday, April 24th with a doubleheader starting at 1:00pm EST and will wrap up on Saturday, April 25th with a single contest at 1:00pm EST.
