    • Rousteing’s tenure reshaped high fashion, leaving an enduring legacy of bold creativity, dedication, and trendsetting couture.

An end of a glamorous era. Although Balmain began in 1945, it was Rousteing and his luxurious style and vision that brought the French couture house into the modern spotlight and realm. For over a decade Olivier’s helming of Balmain brought iconic garb to the fore and became the “It Girl” label for everyone from Rihanna to Beyoncé to Cher and Naomi Campbell. But now the curtain has fallen, on November 5th, Balmain and Creative Director Olivier Rousteing announced the end of their legendary collaboration.

After his final runway fashion show with Balmain, Rousteing released the following statement:

“I am deeply proud of all that l’ve accomplished, and profoundly grateful to my exceptional team at Balmain, my chosen family, in a place that has been my home for the past 14 years. My thanks go to Mr. Rachid Mohamed Rachid and Matteo Sgarbossa for their unwavering belief in me and for entrusting me with this extraordinary opportunity.

As I look ahead to the future and the next chapter of my creative journey, I will always hold this treasured time close to my heart.”

Mr. Rachid Mohamed Rachid, Mayhoola CEO and Balmain Chairman, also expressed thoughts regarding the end of this long-time partnership. He states:

“I sincerely extend my gratitude to Olivier for his extraordinary contribution to Balmain.

Olivier’s visionary leadership has not only redefined the boundaries of fashion but also inspired a generation with bold creativity, unwavering authenticity, and commitment to inclusivity. We are immensely proud of all that has been achieved under his direction and look forward to seeing the next chapter of his journey unfold with the same brilliance and passion.”

Rousteing has certainly left a mark on Fashion, with Balmain and with all true lovers of high-end couture. His legacy is one that will endure due to his passion, enthusiasm, dedication and exquisite talent to create voguish trends and stunning one-of-a-kind pieces. While it is hard to see this elegant and stylish partnership come to its conclusion; we look forward with pure eagerness to see what Rousteing does next. Take a bow, Olivier, the modern icon of design.
