Global Tech Event Celebrates Black and Allied Excellence, Draws Over 20,000 Attendees
Mississauga, ON — The BFUTR 2025 Global Tech Summit, presented by TD and powered by Obsidi®, is set to return to The International Centre in Mississauga from November 6–7, 2025. With over 20,000+ attendees expected, it remains the world’s largest tech summit celebrating Black and allied excellence, driving global conversations on innovation, equity, and the future of work.
Backed by Visit Mississauga, the official destination marketing organization for the city, this year’s summit embraces the bold theme: “The New World of Work”—spotlighting how Black tech professionals and allies are navigating and shaping the rapid changes brought on by AI, automation, and evolving workplace dynamics.
This year’s speaker lineup includes tech luminaries such as Bozoma Saint John, former Netflix Chief Marketing Officer, and Dan Schulman, CEO of Verizon. With more than 100 speakers, the summit promises executive panels, curated workshops, real-time networking, and deep engagement for entrepreneurs, talent, and ecosystem builders alike.
Tech Meets Tourism: Mississauga’s Strategic Role
According to Visit Mississauga, BFUTR is not just a tech summit—it’s an economic driver.
“By connecting businesses with local talent in the tech sector, this summit also positions Mississauga as a centre for economic growth and local tech,” said Visit Mississauga in a statement.
The event also supports Mississauga’s broader economic development goals through IDEA Mississauga, the city’s innovation hub. In collaboration with the Black Entrepreneurship Alliance (BEA), IDEA will host a panel on “Building Future-Proof Tech Careers,” addressing trends, required skill sets, and inclusive opportunities in Canada’s evolving digital economy. Both organizations will also host a booth offering resources, mentorship, and activations aimed at empowering entrepreneurs.
