Glow & Grow: Black Beauty, Haircare, and Skincare Tips

    Key takeaways
    • The name Bob Kardashian is a playful inside joke that nods to Khloé Kardashian's frequent bob and lob looks.
    • Khloé Kardashian alternates bobs with long blowouts and beachy waves; the bob or lob feels quintessentially her.
    • Her late father and younger brother are both named Robert, so technically there are two Bob Kardashians.
    • Khloé Kardashian casually debuted the cut on Instagram Stories, saying she was marinating in a spray tan before the official reveal.
    • The shorter cut fits summer practicality since long hair can feel hot, heavy, and sweaty against the neck.

Just a few hours after dropping pics of herself with voluminous, body-licious curls, Khloé Kardashian decided to kick off August with a fresh hair cut—and introduced us all to her alter ego, Bob Kardashian, in the process.

Kardashian shared a peek at her latest foray into short hair on Instagram Stories, joking that “Bob Kardashian” had returned after months of long, flowing waves. She tagged celebrity hairstylist Chris McMillan as the talented hands behind her new short hair and gave us a full view of the blunt cut, which barely skims her collarbone. And the cut looks very fresh, with Kardashian’s honey-bronde hair parted in the center and worn loose with just a teeny bit of wavy texture at the ends. It really toes the line between bob and lob—not super short, but not quite shoulder length, either.

The name “Bob Kardashian” is a funny joke on so many levels, given that Kardashian loves a bob and goes back to short, above-the-shoulder-length hair all the time; it could be a cute inside joke between the star and her hairstylist. She’s a big fan of long, bombshell blowout or beachy waves too, but there’s something about a bob or lob that feels so very Khloé. But there are a few more layers here (pun intended), because her late father and younger brother are both named Robert, a.k.a. Bob, so technically there already is a Bob Kardashian… well, two Bobs, to be exact.

The Instagram Story was a pretty casual way to debut a hair cut, as Kardashian noted in her story that she was marinating in a spray tan and needed to wash it off before officially debuting her fresh chop for the world to see. But hey, we get the urge to show off a new hairstyle ASAP, and it is the peak of summer where long hair feels hot, heavy, and sweaty against your neck. Pleased to (re)meet you, Bob Kardashian!
