Empowering Black Entrepreneurship: Stories of Success, Strategy & Growth

Christian Walker is back and better than ever with “Must Be Dreamin’,” a dreamy account of falling in love and finally getting to spend time with the person you’ve had your eye on. It’s what every hopeless romantic dreams of having someone say to them one day, with Christian crooning his heart out and showing his appreciation for the person he adores. His dedication to this special person and his songwriting shine through as he glides through every warm note.

“‘Must Be Dreamin’’ is about wanting to be with someone so badly, for so long, that when it finally happens, it doesn’t even feel real,” Christian tells TREMG. “It’s that rush of finally getting the person you’ve been hoping for—and being so in awe of the moment that you’re questioning if you’re dreaming. It’s personal for me, because I’ve lived that feeling, and I think a lot of people have too.”

With every heartfelt lyric and driven guitar strum, you can feel how genuine Christian is with his passion for music and the art he’s putting out into the world. He’s also passionate about making a difference in people’s lives and recently donated every bit of profits from one show to victims of the Texas floods. Christian is the kind of artist who moves listeners on a personal level, making them feel like they can be a part of something magical and community-focused.

“I want to build something real—city by city, show by show—with fans who connect with the music and the message,” he says. “I’d love to play major festivals, open for artists I look up to, and keep growing to the point where my songs are part of people’s everyday lives. Long-term, the dream is to sell out arenas, but right now, I’m focused on building that foundation and making every show count.”

You can find “Must Be Dreamin’” on your favorite streaming services now, and get to know Christian Walker on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and his official website! Keep reading for more of our Q&A with this promising country riser.

Hi Christian, congrats on the release of “Must Be Dreamin’!” What has it been like for you to release the song and see how fans are reacting?

Releasing “Must Be Dreamin’” has been a surreal experience in the best way. It’s a song that means a lot to me personally, so seeing people connect with it has been incredibly rewarding. Fans have been sending messages, sharing it on their stories, and even singing it back at shows—which is wild. It’s always nerve-wracking to put something so personal out there, but the love and support have made it all worth it.

What does “Must Be Dreamin’” mean to you?

“Must Be Dreamin’” is about wanting to be with someone so badly, for so long, that when it finally happens, it doesn’t even feel real. It’s that rush of finally getting the person you’ve been hoping for—and being so in awe of the moment that you’re questioning if you’re dreaming. It’s personal for me, because I’ve lived that feeling, and I think a lot of people have too.

“Must Be Dreamin’” has so many sweet lyrics, with one of our favorites being “I’ll show you the world if you give me a chance.” Is there a certain line you’re especially proud of?

Absolutely—“I’ll show you the world if you give me a chance” is a big one for me too. But if I had to pick one I’m really proud of, it might be “Can I just let it out and tell you everything?” That line feels like the turning point, the moment where all the nerves, the butterflies, and the build-up come to a head. It’s about being brave enough to be vulnerable with someone you’ve dreamed of being with. That kind of honesty is what the whole song is built around.

You said on Instagram that “Must Be Dreamin’” is “a song [you] wrote years ago” – how did it become the song we’re hearing today? Is the final version true to the original you wrote, or has it evolved over the years?

Yeah, I wrote “Must Be Dreamin’” a few years ago, and it’s one of those songs that just stuck with me. From the beginning, it felt special. The original version was a little more stripped down—just me and a guitar—but the emotion was all there. Over time, as I played it more and grew as an artist, the song kind of found its voice. When it came time to record it for real, we stayed true to the heart of the original, but brought it to life with a full band, layered vocals, and a bigger sound. It’s evolved, for sure, but the message and feeling behind it are exactly what I felt when I first wrote it.

What’s a career “Dream” you’re hoping to reach in the next few years?

A big dream of mine is to headline my own tour across Texas and eventually the rest of the country. I want to build something real—city by city, show by show—with fans who connect with the music and the message. I’d love to play major festivals, open for artists I look up to, and keep growing to the point where my songs are part of people’s everyday lives. Long-term, the dream is to sell out arenas, but right now, I’m focused on building that foundation and making every show count.

You recently donated all of the profits from a concert to Texas flood victims, which is awesome! What was it like for you to get to use your talent and platform to give back to your community in a time of crisis?

It was an incredible honor to have the concert and the cause featured on News Nation, reaching viewers all across the country. Having that kind of exposure helped shine a spotlight on the Texas flood victims and showed how music and community can come together to make a real difference. It was humbling to know that our efforts resonated beyond just the local area and inspired others to get involved.

How do you feel you’ve grown as an artist since debuting with “Give Me Someone” in 2020?

Since releasing “Give Me Someone” in 2020, I’ve grown a lot as an artist—both in my songwriting and in how I connect with my fans. Back then, I was still finding my sound and learning how to tell my stories in a way that feels authentic and powerful. Over the past few years, I’ve become more confident in taking creative risks and letting my true self come through in the music. I’ve also learned the importance of being patient with the process and staying focused on the bigger picture. Each release, each show, and every fan interaction has helped me grow stronger and more grounded in who I want to be as an artist.

What can your fans look forward to in the rest of 2025?

Fans can definitely look forward to some exciting things in the rest of 2025! I plan to release a new song that continues to showcase my sound and the stories I want to tell. I’m also aiming to get back on the road with more live shows around Texas and create new content that connects with my fans. It’s going to be a big year of growth, and I can’t wait to share what’s next.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention or say to your fans that the questions didn’t touch on?

Absolutely! I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s been supporting me, from streaming my songs to coming out to shows and sharing the music with their friends. Every bit of that means the world and keeps me motivated to keep writing and performing. I’m grateful to have such an incredible community behind me, and I can’t wait to keep growing with you all. Let’s keep chasing those dreams together!
