Politics Today: News, Analysis & Debate Across the Spectrum

As we reported, Zach Bryan is upset he’s getting backlash over his anti-ICE song.

Profanity alert: He called law enforcement “cocky motherf******s” and attacked ICE while lamenting the “fading of the red, white, and blue.”

ICE gonna bust down your door / Try to build a house no one builds no more / But I got a telephone / Kids are all scared and all alone.

But now, with the backlash, he wants us to believe his lyrics were “misconstrued.”

Boo hoo. He’s just upset that he ticked off a significant number of fans who now may no longer buy his music. He’s free to say what he wants, and they’re equally free not to buy his music.

But it was the additional part of the statement that I found striking.

More graphic language:

🚨NEW — Country artist Zach Bryan has released a statement addressing criticisms of lyrics from an unreleased song of his portraying anti-ICE themes:

“pls f**kn read this”

“This song is about how much I love this country and everyone in it…” pic.twitter.com/4MvdmdxCLq

The last few months of my life I’ve been scrutinized by more people than I ever thought possible. I feel like I’ve tried my hardest in so many ways and it’s so had to see where my bearings even are anymore. Been falling off a cliff while trying to grow wings at the same time,” Bryan wrote. I am SO proud to have served in a country where we can all speak freely and converse amongst each other without getting doxxed or accosted on the internet or worse; the violence and heartbreak we’ve faced in the last few months! God speed ol sons I’m out!”

He’s upset about scrutiny, people “getting doxxed or accosted on the internet or worse,” and the “violence…we’ve faced.”

You know what’s missing there? The specific recognition that that’s what’s happening to ICE agents and at ICE facilities. Agents are being doxxed, facilities have been shot at, people have been injured and killed, all because the left has whipped up a frenzy against ICE. ICE and other federal agents have been under attack. Not to mention, where’s the recognition that ICE is doing a vital job of enforcing the law, in the face of the storm, to protect the American people?

Unbelievable: Chicago Cops Told Not to Respond When Federal Agents Were Surrounded

The Department of Homeland Security’s X account had a pointed response.

They cited an article asking the question, “Will Zach Bryan write a song about murdered women Laken Riley and Rachel Morin?

The two women were murdered by illegal aliens. Bryan is not on the right side of this – the right side is protecting Americans.

The DHS also shifted into high trolling gear, showing ICE and other federal agents in action, taking illegal aliens into custody and dealing with anti-ICE radicals from Portland, Oregon, to Broadview, Illinois. It shows just a little bit of what they have to go through.

Oh, and by the way, they wrote, “We’re having an All Night Revival,” and use Bryan’s song “Revival” in the clip.

Something tells me they may have just made their point.
