Key takeaways
  • Fifth anniversary marks a milestone for Florida’s Black Chambers, celebrating five years of collective impact and partnership.
  • Legislative Advocacy Day unites members with lawmakers to address key bills, policy priorities, and strategies affecting businesses and communities.
  • Leadership engagement encourages chamber presidents, advocacy committees, and lawmakers to collaborate on supporting small business growth and equitable economic development.

Programming will begin on Monday, February 2, with educational sessions exclusively for Chamber Presidents, followed by an evening welcome reception celebrating five years of impact and partnership. On Tuesday, February 3, attendees will participate in Legislative Advocacy Day and a luncheon, engaging directly with lawmakers to discuss key bills, policy priorities, and strategies that impact businesses and communities statewide.

“This fifth year represents a powerful moment for Florida’s Black Chambers,” said Shaheewa Jarrett Gelin, Esq., Founder of the Association. “We are bringing leaders together not only to network and learn, but to ensure our collective voice continues to shape policies that support small businesses, economic development, and equitable growth across Florida.”

Participants are encouraged to attend with their members, advocacy committees, and organizational leadership, particularly those impacted by legislation emerging from Tallahassee. The summit also provides opportunities for legislators to share insight on the legislative process, priority issues, and effective advocacy.
