Jeff Gill reports that the second phase of what could be a 1.7 million-square-foot office/warehouse park is proposed off Ga. 365 in northeast Hall County. North Oconee Industrial Park’s 135-acre first phase calling for 1.1 million square feet in building space was approved in February 2023 with a rezoning by the Hall County Board of Commissioners.

Staff reports that Baldwin County School District’s Nutrition Department has received a $25,000 donation from the Zaxby’s family, led by the Avants Management Group, to support the district’s elementary school breakfast program.   The donation, made through the newly-established Mustard Seed Trust, marks the first community gift from the fund — and a meaningful return to the roots of the Zaxby’s brand.

Ross Williams reports, in an attempt to ensure Georgia courts can transition into the age of artificial intelligence as smoothly as possible, a special committee established in August by now-retired Chief Justice Michael P. Boggs dug into the issue. That panel issued a report this month reviewing the use of AI in Georgia courts and producing a list of eight recommendations intended to maintain public faith in the judicial system as use of the technology expands.
