Game On: Latest in Gaming News, Reviews & Industry Buzz

The world is yours to destroy in Donkey Kong Bananza, but it doesn’t mean you should kick, slap, or punch without a rhythm. To make sure you have some cool songs to fire you up, you can collect music discs.

A huge part of the Bananza experience is about hunting for collectibles — stuff like fossils, Banandium Gems, and yes, music discs. The discs don’t change your gameplay the way Banandium Gems or fossils do, but if you love collecting items, you’ll want to get your hands on these.

In this Donkey Kong Bananza guide, we explain how to find music discs using multiple methods.

How to find music discs in Donkey Kong Bananza

If you want to collect all the music discs in Donkey Kong Bananza, you can find them after defeating enemies. Unlike fossils or Banandium Gems, which are hidden in specific places on the map, music discs just have a chance to drop when you kill an enemy.

You also have a chance to get a music disc when you tip 10 gold to the Trustytone concierge NPCs at your getaways. We’ve tried tipping a variety of Trustytones, but it does seem like they can give you a music disc with no real patterns between them. The Trustytones will prompt you to tip after you ask them to imitate a shop, even if you don’t buy anything from their pseudo-shops.

Unfortunately, based on our testing, it seems like the discs you get are completely random. We’ve had discs drop for songs we’ve never heard before, like the DK Artist mode song dropping despite us never using DK Artist yet.

There also doesn’t seem to be too much correlation between locations and what disc you get either, as we’ve had Hilltop Layer songs drop for us in the Forest Layer, and even boss music drop in unrelated zones.

You can also increase the rate music discs drop if Pauline wears the Diva Dress, which unlocks via using the Donkey Kong and Pauline amiibo. Some players have noted that you can unlock this dress later in the game, but we’re unable to confirm this ourselves yet.
