    Margaret Hamilton, an innovative computer system scientist that led the group that produced the onboard trip software application for NASA’s moon-bound Apollo program and later in life was celebrated as an effective icon of females in innovation, has passed away. She was 90

    Hamilton passed away Sept. 30 at a medical facility in Cambridge, Massachusetts, her daughter, Lauren Hamilton, told The Associated Press on Thursday. NASA Manager Jared Isaacman claimed on the social system X that her job helped make humanity’s first journeys to the moon possible.

    Born on Aug. 17, 1936, in Indiana, Hamilton grew up mainly in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, her little girl claimed, and she resided in Cambridge from when she was in her early 20 s up until her death.

    Hamilton obtained many honors and awards, including being granted the Presidential Medal of Liberty, the country’s highest private honor, in 2016 by President Barack Obama.
