    ALBANY, Ga.- Savannah State won four events at the Alice Coachman Invitational on Saturday at the Robert Cross Track.

    The Tigers took home the gold in four field events in the high jump, triple jump, shot put and javelin.

    In fact, Savannah State won the gold, silver and bronze in the high jump with D’Anthony Glover winning with a leap of 2.05m, Raymond McKoy coming in second with a jump of 2.00m and Jakobe Mobley finishing in third following his jump of 1.95m.

    Xavier Wilson won the triple jump with his leap of 14.77m, Evan Guyton had a toss of 14.86m to win the shot put and Robert Estabrook set a new Savannah State record with his throw of 52.26m to win the javelin.

    In the 100m race, Yastremski Johnson (11.08) finished 12th while Jahkhai St Louis (11.11) was 14th and Shaun Eason (11.39) was 27th. 

    Johnson (21.87) was fifth in the 200m, Eason (22.09) was 10th and St Louis (22.10) finished 11th while in the 400m, Braylin Grier crossed the finish line fourth with a time of 50.02.

    In the 1500m, Tayshaun Williams had a time of 4:29.38 to finish 10th, Jaden-Wayne McPherson was 12th with his run of 4:34.18 and Gabriel Hinkins finished 13th with a run of 4:35.41.

    Eszaunie Earls was sixth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.46 while Nehemiah Shanks was 12th with a run of 16.05 and Dominique Bailey was 15th after his run of 17.33.

    Cameron Frails was clocked at 56.75 and placed seventh in the 400m hurdles while Earls was ninth with his time of 56.86 and Shanks finished 15th after his run of  59.33.

    The 4x100m relay team of Kajuan Davis, Shaun Eason, Yastremski Johnson and Tyler Phillips crossed the finish line at the 42.26 mark which was good enough for fifth place.

    In the other field events, Dominique Bailey was eighth in the pole vault (2.66m), Glover and Bailey were fifth and 13th in the long jump with leaps of 6.65m and 6.15m respectively and Bailey finished 23rd in the shot put with a throw of  9.22m.

    Guyton placed second in the discus with a throw of 46.12m while Melik Williams (40.31m) finished seventh and Bailey (30.16m) was 21st.

    Donovan Holdip had a throw of 40.22m in the hammer throw to finish sixth while Bailey (41.70m) was fourth in the javelin and Jordan Scruggs (34.17m) finished ninth.

    The meet was a homecoming for Albany native Yastremski Johnson and south Georgia natives Nehemiah Shanks (Dawson) and Melik Williams (Cairo).

    Savannah State finished fourth in the meet with 95 points.

    Albany State claimed first place with 131 points followed by Columbus State (126) and Morehouse (109) to round out the top three teams.
