THE LEGACY OF LIFE

MR. MORRIS STERLING HERRINGTON

SUNRISE: OCTOBER 10, 1953 – SUNSET: JUNE 13, 2025

MR. MORRIS STERLING HERRINGTON, 71, was born on October 10, 1953, in Sardis, Georgia, to Janine Bell Herrington and Clarence Williams. He accepted Christ at an early age and became an active and faithful member of Second McCoy Baptist Church. He served as an usher and sexton in the church until his death.

He attended the public schools of Burke County.  Later, he was employed at the Sylvania Yarn Systems for thirty-one years before retiring.  Morris was well-respected and loved in the community.  He spent most of his time in Sylvania with his wife, the late Marsha Williams Herrington, and his two sons, Maurice and Mark Herrington.

MR. MORRIS STERLING HERRINGTON received his eternal wings on June 13, 2025, at the Optim Medical Cener of Sylvania, GA, following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his wife Marsha Williams Herrington, his mother, Janine Bell Herrington; his father, Clarence Williams; his grandparents, George and Rosa Mae Herrington, his sister, Kimberly Herrington; his uncles, George, Henry, and Thomas Herrington; and his aunts, Shelby Herrington and Annie Dent.

He leaves to cherish his memories: (2) sons: Maurice Herrington and Mark Herrington (Zaria), (2) sisters:  Monica Graham of South Carolina and Peggy Cook of West Palm Beach, Florida; (1) brother: Cornell Williams of South Carolina; an uncle James Herrington of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; a beloved great Aunt: Sarah Davis of Northport, Alabama; (4) Grandchildren,  a special friend: Rosa Lee Lexie along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
