Happy New Music Friday! The weekend is here, which means more streaming, new playlists and the best that music has to offer — and ET has you covered for everything in between.

LL Cool J has been announced as the host of 2025 MTV VMAs airing September 7 on CBS, MTV & Paramount+. He will be taking the VMAs reins solo for the first time, after previously serving as co-emcee in 2022 with Nicki Minaj and Jack Harlow.

Due to overwhelming demand, Backstreet Boys have added seven new performances to their sold out Into the Millennium residency at Sphere, including a New Year’s Eve show. They are the first pop act to perform at Sphere and continue to bring their Millennium album to life.

The Academy of Country Music announced additional performers for the 18th Academy of Country Music Honors. Jamey Johnson, Miko Marks, Victoria Shaw join previously announced performers Luke Bryan, Russell Dickerson, Karen Fairchild, Carter Faith, Ashley Gorley, Amy Grant, Ashley McBryde, K. Michelle, Carly Pearce and Tucker Wetmore. Performers will take the stage to celebrate this year’s honorees Lori Badgett, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Jessie Jo Dillon, Jelly Roll, Cody Johnson, Mac McAnally, Rissi Palmer, Randy Travis, “Twisters,” Ben Vaughn and Lainey Wilson. Carly Pearce and Russell Dickerson will host the event on August 20 in Nashville.

Pharrell Williams has launched VIRGINA, his creative alias, community platform and brand. VIRGINIA is a destination where music, fashion, design and community converge and is both a pseudonym and a playground for experimentation, storytelling and direct connection. Pharrell shared, “Virginia is where I’m from, but it’s also who I am creatively. It’s my space to dream, and a way to connect with people who are dreaming too.”

Maroon 5 released their eighth studio album, Love Is Like which includes the title track “Love Is Like” featuring Lil Wayne. They will start a national U.S. arena tour kicking off October 6.
