    Black Facts.com

Baltimore, MD —  May 1, 2026 NexGen Global Green Housing (NGGGH), a national leader in affordable homeownership and steel‑frame housing manufacturing, today announced a groundbreaking initiative that gives Baltimore City Section 8 residents the opportunity to select a residential lot anywhere in the city, have NGGGH purchase the lot on their behalf, and receive a newly constructed, energy‑efficient home built by NexGen — paired with mortgage financing secured through a top‑tier national banking partner.

This initiative is designed to transform long‑term renters into long‑term homeowners, reduce Baltimore’s Section 8 waiting list, and expand generational wealth opportunities for families across the city.

    A First-of-Its-Kind Homeownership Pathway

    Under this new program:

    • Section 8 residents may choose any eligible lot in Baltimore City
    • NexGen will purchase the lot at no cost to the resident
    • NexGen will build a brand‑new steel‑frame, energy‑efficient home
    • NexGen and its banking partners will secure a mortgage tailored to the resident’s voucher and income
    • Residents may qualify with credit scores as low as 580 through NexGen’s Lease‑to‑Own or Buyer Pathway
    • Veterans qualify for 100% financing

This model directly aligns with HUD’s mission to expand homeownership access and supports Baltimore’s long‑term housing and neighborhood revitalization goals.

A Major Investment in Baltimore’s Future

NexGen Global Green Housing has already committed to:
    • Establishing a steel‑frame manufacturing plant in Baltimore, creating 100–125 jobs
    • Delivering 1,500 new homes in partnership with a top‑tier national bank
    • Providing financial literacy, homebuyer education, and long‑term support for participating families

“Our message to Baltimore’s Section 8 families is simple,” said Leroy C. Jackson, CFO of NexGen Global Green Housing.
“You choose the lot. We buy it. We build the home. We secure the mortgage. Your voucher becomes your pathway to ownership — not just rent.”

    Why This Matters

Baltimore currently has 13,000–15,000 residents waiting to get on the Section 8 list, with thousands more waiting for homeownership opportunities. NexGen’s program directly addresses this challenge by converting existing renters into homeowners, reducing demand on the rental program, and stabilizing neighborhoods.
