Style Spotlight: Looks, Trends & Fashion Inspiration

    Key takeaways
    • Plum is this Fall’s statement color, offering a moodier, timeless alternative to black and brown.
    • Plum pairs seamlessly with neutrals like camel, ivory, and shades of gray for a quietly luxe look.
    • Versatile across silhouettes—structured blazers, oversized leather, and slouchy knits all work in plum.
    • Trend extends to beauty: plum-colored clothes and makeup are highlighted as current must-haves.

EEvery season has its statement color, and this Fall, it’s all about the rich depth of PLUM!We saw lots of burgundy and deep reds in previous Fall seasons, but this year, the wine shade has moved more of a purple territory, offering a moodier alternative to our classic black and brown pieces while still feeling timeless. These plum tones are bold while still feeling wearable, which is exactly why they’re showing up on everything from flowing dresses to structured leather bags. It’s rich, refined, and perfect for fall. The plum color trend pairs well with so much of what you already own, and it’s also the perfect color to execute a head to toe monochromatic look with! Against neutrals like camel, ivory, or different shades of gray, they feel quietly luxe – perfect for the office or anywhere else you want to look put together and sophisticated. Worn with black or a deep chocolatey brown, they bring depth without competing. You can warm them up with gold or sharpen and cool them down with silver. And if you’re ready to play with contrast, plum looks fresh and modern with soft blush or a powdery blue.

Whether you lean more tailored or bohemian, these rich tones works across silhouettes. A structured plum-colored blazer or oversized leather jacket layered over denim feels powerful. A plum slouchy knit paired with a midi skirt is chic and soft. A wine toned bag or boot instantly updates a minimal outfit.

The color trend doesn’t begin and end with fashion, though. The beauty world is in on it, too. Shop some of my favorite plum picks for clothes and makeup, available right now!

p.s If you like your wine tones a little more red than purple, check out my pop of red shopping guide… and there’s an edit of my favorite deep red beauty picks as well!
