Style Spotlight: Looks, Trends & Fashion Inspiration

Key takeaways
  • Detty December represents Nigeria's festive period with vibrant celebrations, parties, and family reunions during the end of the year.
  • The private party hosted at a lavish hotel, Nok, featured a stunning atmosphere and delicious light snacks.
  • Courtreezy and her friends managed only three hours of sleep, yet had no trouble sleeping during their travel.
  • A beach day at Boho, a luxury lounge, showcased the beautiful coast of Nigeria and delectable food experiences.
  • The reaction video highlighted Lagos' nightlife, emphasizing its energetic and exciting social scene.

Here’s another blind reaction to Courtreezy’s video on her second channel,   ‪@courtreezy2.0‬.  Courtreezy is a Youtube who has at least two channels on YouTube, over 4 million subscribers.

This video she goes to Lagos and goes to a party, enjoys the nightlife and goes to an event called Detty December.

What is Detty December?

According to Wikipedia, “Detty December refers to the festive period at the end of the year in Nigeria typically from mid-December through the New Year. It’s a time of vibrant celebrations, social gatherings, parties, and festivities characterized by high energy, excitement, and optimism. It’s a time when many Nigerians, both within the country and in the diaspora, return home to celebrate with family and friends.”

Detty is another way of saying dirty, so to my understanding, anything goes doing these celebrations.  At the time of writing this, I’m not sure if these celebrations are similar to Freaknik of the 90s. But in this video, I don’t see anything too crazy.

Nigerian Private Party

There was a private party the ladies went to. It was an invite only.  The location was secret until the last minute.  But the location was lavish.  It was at a very fancy hotel Nok, with amazing lights and atmosphere. The food was light snacks and looked amazing.

Three Hours of Sleep

Courtreezy and her friends had about three hours of sleep. I believe they came from Tornado or London. When I came from Los Angeles to Accra, I had sleeping trouble that whole trip. But the ladies didn’t, they were very tired but no sleeping issues, that I know of.

Proper Beach Day

One of the days, the ladies when on a proper beach day.  A beach off the coast of Nigeria at a place called Boho. Boho is a high-end lounge and resort. And the pictures and videos, Courtreezy took made the food look amazing.

All In All

This was a great reaction video. It helped remind me that the night life in Lagos is amazing.
