Fresh from the Kitchen: Recipes & Food Inspiration

    Key takeaways
    • Use a spiral-cut ham; if using a whole ham, score the surface so the glaze soaks into each slice.
    • Glaze with brown sugar, maple syrup, and canned pineapple (use its juice) for sweet, caramelized flavor.
    • Cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours; add pineapple juice 30 minutes before serving and let rest 10 minutes before carving.

Slow cooker ham is the ultimate easy main dish that delivers big flavor with minimal effort. Made with only 4 ingredients, this recipe creates a perfectly tender, caramelized glaze as it slowly cooks. The crockpot keeps the ham moist while allowing all the sweet and savory flavors to soak in. Whether you’re serving this for a holiday, family gathering, or meal prep, this hands-off ham recipe takes the stress out of cooking.

    FAQs & Tips

What kind of ham should you use?

This recipe calls for a spiral-cut ham. This is recommended because it allows the glaze to seep into every slice. If you use a non-cut, whole ham, I suggest you score the surface to help it absorb flavor.

What size of ham should you use?

Pick a ham that will fit your slow cooker. I suggest a ham that’s between 5 to 7 pounds.

Are you cooking the ham or reheating it?

Most spiral hams are already cooked so you’re really just reheating it.

Should you add any more liquid?

Nope! No other liquid is needed beyond the pineapple and its juice. The ham will also release its own juices as it slow cooks.

    How do you serve this?

This slow cooker ham is perfect for holidays like Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Serve this alongside comforting sides like candied yams, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

    How do you store leftovers?

Store leftover crockpot ham in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

What size slow cooker should you use?

I used a 6-quart slow cooker or Instant Pot.
