    World Trade Center Savannah (WTCSav) will host its seventh annual Prosperity Through Trade Luncheon Wednesday, May 6, 11:30 a.m. at the Savannah Convention Center, 1 International Drive. The keynote speaker will be Brown University professor and economist Mark Blyth.

    Blyth is the William R. Rhodes ’57 Professor of International Economics at Brown University’s Watson Institute. Before academia, he worked as a comedian, chef and musician before earning his Ph.D. from Columbia University. His research focuses on economic stability, the persistence of flawed economic ideas, and topics such as inflation and the transition to a green economy. He is the author of several books, including Austerity: The History of a Dangerous Idea, Angrynomics and Inflation: A Guide for Losers and Users, with a forthcoming book, Burning Down the House: Carbon Politics, American Power and the Almighty Dollar.

    World Trade Center Savannah will present the 2026 World Trade Center Savannah International Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Georgia Southern University, to a regional company that demonstrates excellence in international trade. This award recognizes companies of all sizes in Southeast Georgia that are advancing global business relationships and creating quality jobs in the region.
