The Steel trailed early in the game but quickly turned things around. Harmoni Turner found Lauryn Taylor, whose high-arcing shot sank to the bottom of the net, giving Savannah their first lead at 19-18. However, the Steel ended the first quarter trailing 23-19.

The team outscored Jacksonville by eight points in the quarter, with Petree and Iyanna Moore leading the scoring effort. Moore drained a triple, helping Savannah secure a 43-39 lead at halftime.

Halftime featured a special guest, WJCL anchor Emma Hamilton, who shared smiles with members of Girls on the Run, a nonprofit organization where she volunteers.

Back on the court, Savannah extended their lead to as many as 13 points. However, the Waves mounted a comeback in the second half, ultimately securing the win with a final score of 78-75.
