    Savannah Chatham County Public School System (SCCPS) Update:

    Adoption of FY2027 Budget and Tentative Millage Rate

    At the Special Called Meeting, the Board adopted a recommendation for the Fiscal Year 2027 Budget consisting of five components: the General Fund Budget, General Obligation Debt Budget, Special Revenue Funds Budget, Capital Projects Funds Budget, and Other Funds Budget.

    In addition to the budget, the Board adopted a tentative millage rate.  The tentative millage rate reflects no mill increase or decrease from the FY26 budget, for a total combined millage of 17.331 mills (17.331 mills for maintenance and operations and 0 mill for general obligation bond debt).

    The recommended FY27 Budget is presented for approval to sustain District operations from the start of the fiscal year (July 1) through adoption of the final recommended millage rate that is currently scheduled for July 15, 2026.  This budget remains subject to amendment based on updated budget and millage rate timeline.

    Budget Process Update

    The vote followed an update to the Board on the budget development process which is being impacted by declining enrollment, tax reform, and state budget adjustments.

    Other Board Actions and Updates

    Powerschool Renewed

    The Board approved the renewal of PowerSchool subscriptions for a total cost of $857,355.59.

    PowerSchool is used throughout the district providing data to staff and parents.

    Tyler Technologies Contract Renewed as Sole Source for a One Year Performance Period

    On June 5, 2019, the Board approved the award to Tyler Technologies, Inc., to replace the existing legacy CGI/AMS VSE Financial and Human Resource Management System with a commercial cloud-based solution. The original contract award and performance period was for five (5) years under RFP 18-65. The Board approved of the sole source to establish a contract for the sixteen application services for an additional one-year performance period at a cost of $447,119.24.
