    Key takeaways
    • Discovered The Frankie Shop's cuffed shorts: tailored, versatile for day or night, comfortable elasticated back, about $119.
    • Refreshing my blazer rotation with four new styles from The Frankie Shop, including hourglass, collarless, faded pink, and classic tailored.
    • Their current collection includes an unmissable range of faux leather jackets, versatile statement pieces for many outfits.
    • Boutiques and site carry curated labels like St. Agni, Lou Lou de Saison, and Sportmax; highly recommend visiting their New York shops.
Spotlight on The Frankie Shop // Merritt Beck

If you’re hoping to update the building blocks in your closet but don’t want to spend a fortune, you need to know about The Frankie Shop. Founded in NYC, this boutique is known for their top tier curation of elevated wardrobe staples, along with their namesake in-house label that spits out the very best of that desirable masculin-féminin look. Think sharp blazers, structured suits, effortless button-downs and easy everyday cotton sets, all that play well with current trends while keeping the overall look timeless and wearable. It’s a collection that feels akin to trend-setting labels like The Row and Wardrobe.NYC, but at a much more approachable price point! Most of their iconic blazers are between $250-$500!

While bopping around the Lower East Side in March with my friend Jess one weekend, we popped into their boutique in the neighborhood and I was immediately taken with these cuffed shorts. It’s not often I come across a pair of shorts I *must* try on, but the tailored look, exaggerated cuff and longer hem were all checks in the yes column for me. The second I slipped them on I knew they needed to come home with me, and I was elated to discover they were only $119. I love that they’re a style I can wear casually, but also dress up for dinner and nighttime plans in the summer – how often can you say that about a pair of shorts? The elasticated back on these shorts gives them a slightly more fitted look at the waist, which is an incredibly flattering detail that also makes these very comfortable. I wish they came in black, because I’d get a second pair in an instant!

More recently, I’ve realized I’d like to add a couple of new blazer styles to my spring/summer wardrobe. After realizing just how much I reach for my black Wardrobe.NYC blazer, I thought adding one in white, cream or another soft neutral would be a good idea! I actually already have a sand-colored linen style from The Frankie Shop that I love, but I want something in a slightly heavier fabric for this new one. I ordered four styles to try – this hourglass blazer, this collarless look, this faded pink style, and this classic tailored piece. I’ll report back once I’ve gotten them in the mail! Fingers crossed one of them works!

Below are some items I’m eyeing from their current collection on the site. While I’m not shopping for leather looks right now, definitely don’t miss their amazing selection of faux leather jackets!

DRAWSTRING UTILITY JACKET // YELLOW FAUX LEATHER JACKET // SILK TRENCH // BLACK FAUX LEATHER JACKET // BLUE STRIPE SHIRT + LAYERED HEM SHORTS // HOURGLASS BLAZER // TEAL & BEIGE STRIPED SHIRT + SHORTS // RED COTTON SHIRT + SHORTS // COLLARLESS BLAZER

In addition to their in-house label, the boutiques (in-store and online!) carry dozens of other chic lesser known brands! You’ll find labels like St. Agni, Lou Lou de Saison, and Sportmax, that all come together with a specific point of view. The aesthetic of this store is beyond! I highly recommend popping into one of their New York shops on your next visit. You won’t be disappointed!
