Lag Bโ€™Omer event welcomes unexpected birth of lamb

๐Ÿชฟย Attendees at the Jewish celebration of Lag Bโ€™Omer on May 5 at Dunwoodyโ€™sย Congregation Arielย gathered to petย sheep, pigs, ducks, chickens, and bunnies, but got more than they bargained for when Mable the sheep suddenly gave birth to a little lamb.ย

Mable, according toย Cricketโ€™s Mobile Petting Zooย owner Jessica Franklin, was thought to be sterile because of an earlier infection. Mable had only been at the zoo for a couple of months, and a sheepโ€™s typical gestation period is about five months.ย

The four-pound lamb was named Ariel by the congregation, which means โ€œLion of Godโ€ in Hebrew.ย

โ€œHowโ€™s the rabbi?โ€ one asked in a message. โ€œIs he still scheduled for surgery?โ€

โ€œWe are still waiting for the doctor to check if itโ€™s still needed,โ€ came the response.

But there was no surgery, authorities say, and there was no rabbi. Instead, prosecutors allege, the men were referring to Amazonโ€™s impending acquisition of the vacuum company iRobot, hoping to trade on what was then still a closely guarded secret. According to a pair of federalย indictmentsunsealedย last week, the deal was one of dozens leaked to a criminal network that used Jewish code words to plan their investments.
