    SAVANNAH, Ga.- Jakobe Mobley will represent Savannah State University at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, following the release of official  qualifiers by the NCAA on Tuesday.

    Mobley will participate in the triple jump which will take place on May 23 at Welch Stadium on the campus of Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas.

    A freshman from Uvalda, Georgia, Mobley graduated from Robert Toombs Christian Academy.

    Mobley’s best time during the outdoor season came at the SSU Orange & Blue Relays on April 4 when he cleared the bar at 2.10m (6’10.75″)to win the event. 

    He and seven others are tied at no. 14 in Division II with marks of 2.10m.

    At his first outdoor meet of the season on March 7, at the Savannah State Eyeopener, Mobley had a jump of 2.00m to finish third but he improved to 2.07m on the following week in the Tiger Relays to win the event. At the Morehouse Relays on March 27-28, Mobley captured second place with his leap of 2.01m and followed that with his season-high jump of 2.10m at the Orange & Blue Relays.

    Mobley slipped to post a jump of 1.95m at the Alice Coachman Invitational on April 11 to finish third but rebounded for a second place finish at the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships on April 21-23 with a jump of 2.05m. He finished sixth at the East Coast Relays on May 1, with his jump of 1.98m
