WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Cameron Art Museum (CAM) is inviting the public to a new exhibition opening next month.
According to CAM, the “Rooted in Memory: The Gullah Geechee Vision of Jonathan Green” exhibit explores heritage, storytelling, and culture. It will feature art by Jonathan Green as well as traditional Gullah Geechee crafts.
“Jonathan Green’s work reflects the power of art to preserve memory, celebrate cultural identity, and connect generations,” Heather Wilson, CEO of CAM, said. “This exhibition brings together contemporary art and traditional craft in a way that honors the enduring legacy of Gullah Geechee culture while creating meaningful connections for audiences across our region.”
The exhibit will be open to the public from June 19 through Jan. 24, 2027.
CAM will host an opening night event on Thursday, June 18, followed by a free community day on Saturday, June 20, for its summer exhibition season.
