SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – My Veterans Place Savannah is celebrating five years of service to local service members and military families.
Friday, the non-profit organization held an anniversary celebration and ribbon cutting at Tom Triplett Park, along with the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce. VyStar Credit Union Foundation also presented a $20,000 grant check to the organization.
Friday’s event celebrates five years of service to veterans, service members, and military families throughout Coastal Georgia.
In 2021, Navy veteran Dr. Faye Prescott founded the organization, and it has grown to provide critical support for veterans. This includes emergency housing assistance, food security programs, financial assistance, mental health resource connections, veterans benefits navigation and community engagement initiatives.
