The Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management (IGPCM), a lobby that contributes to the prevention and management of conflicts around the world, has appointed Cameroonian-born, Dr G.P.A. N.N. Richard, as its new liaison officer for Central and East Africa.

The appointment, announced on Thursday, is part of IGPCM’s broader strategy to expand its global peace-building mission.

In a statement, IGPCM said the move reflects its commitment to “strengthening peace building, conflict management, leadership development, collaboration, and sustainable transformation across Africa”.

“Dr Richard’s appointment places him in a strategic position to represent the vision and values of IGPCM while fostering stronger connections and opportunities across the Central and East African regions,” the Institute said.

The statement said his leadership journey and the diverse roles he has undertaken demonstrate a strong commitment to serving others, promoting leadership, advancing peace, and contributing to nation-building.

The statement further emphasized the need for Africa to cultivate more peace builders and solution-oriented leaders who can think beyond national borders and work toward addressing challenges across the continent.

Dr Richard described the appointment as a major milestone.

“IGPCM is an outstanding institution, reputed for its commitment and good works. I am proud to be part of this great initiative,” he said. “I am encouraged and inspired by this appointment to work even harder for the good of humanity. I am truly grateful to God for this achievement, and I hope to serve diligently and with integrity.”

The Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management is an organisation dedicated to promoting peace, conflict prevention and effective conflict management at local, national and international levels.

Its work focuses on strengthening understanding of the causes and dynamics of conflict while supporting practical approaches to peaceful coexistence, dialogue and sustainable peace.

IGPCM’s mandate is to contribute to the prevention and management of conflicts by promoting peace building, dialogue, research, capacity development and cooperation among individuals, communities and institutions.

It seeks to equip stakeholders with the knowledge and practical skills needed to address conflicts constructively and foster peaceful and resilient societies.

Key activities undertaken by the Institute include research and knowledge development, training and capacity building, peace building and conflict-management initiatives, dialogue and mediation, advocacy, and partnerships and networking.

Through these activities, IGPCM seeks to strengthen the capacity of relevant stakeholders to prevent violence, manage disputes effectively and contribute to sustainable peace and development.

Overall, IGPCM serves as a platform for research, learning, dialogue and practical action on peace and conflict, bringing together relevant stakeholders to promote peaceful solutions to contemporary conflicts and support a culture of peace.

A reputed and revered Prophet of God, Dr Richard is the founder of Temple Courts – House of Prayer for All Nations. His prophecies have withstood the test of time and positively impacted countless lives globally.

He also serves as Chief Executive Officer of GIA TV Gospel and God is Able TV. He is also Deputy Vice Chancellor of Potami International University for the Sahel Africa and Biafra Region, as well as a legal expert.

In Douala, where Dr Richard is based, the announcement was met with celebration.

“Dr Richard is well known in Douala and across the country. His appointment is truly a blessing to Cameroon and to Africa in general. He is the right man in the right position,” said Eric Wakam, a Douala resident.

“We were not surprised by the appointment. The Prophet of God deserves it. His leadership qualities and commitment to service are outstanding. I am confident his contribution will bring meaningful and impactful change to IGPCM,” added Josephine Ebot.

Dr Richard is expected to travel to East Africa soon to begin carrying out his duties in his new role.
