Black Voices: News, Culture & Community from Across the Nation

An Unforgettable Evening of Collaboration, Confidence, and Community

Nationwide — Five young and up-and-coming African American entrepreneurs from the Washington, DC area will host a groundbreaking event called the Gen Z Network Mixer on Saturday, June 7th. They are 18-year-old Inia Brown, 19-year-old Heaven Jones, 19-year-old Aniya Belk, 19-year-old Lyric Johnson, and 22-year-old Chase Sellars. All of them are real estate professionals and business strategists.

They describe their event as being designed by Gen Z, for Gen Z. Set at the scenic and stylish National Harbor, this mixer will connect some of the area’s most creative and ambitious young adults for a high-energy night of collaboration, networking, and empowerment.

Every vendor involved is a Gen Z entrepreneur or aspiring entrepreneur — from the DJ setting the tone, to the photographer capturing the magic, to the caterer and makeup artists delivering both flavor and flair. This event is a celebration of young excellence, hosted by young professionals who aren’t waiting for permission—they’re creating their own lane.

What to Expect:

• Free professional headshots for the first 15 guests

• Free parking for the first 10 registered attendees

• Live DJ + curated vibe for networking and connection

• Giveaways and raffles, including business tools and lifestyle gifts

• Access to Gen Z-owned businesses for future collaborations

• Stylish space at National Harbor with the backdrop of the waterfront

“Our generation doesn’t just dream—we deliver,” says lead organizer India Brown. “This event is proof that Gen Z isn’t the future—we’re the right now. We want to build each other up, network across, and start making money and moves together.”

Whether you’re an aspiring entrepreneur, an influencer in the making, or simply looking for your tribe, this event is your gateway to purpose-driven relationships, visibility, and opportunities.

How to Register:

Registration can be completed online via EventBrite. Spots are limited. RSVP is required.
