    Local Headlines & Updates:

    Key takeaways
    • Five Savannah homes sold above $5 million, led by 213-219, 301-312 W 31st St at $6,050,000.
    • Local ultra-luxury sales reflect wealthy buyers treating real estate as a tangible investment.
    • Nationally, California and Florida dominate ultra-luxury market with multiple sales over $60 million.
    • Data sourced from Redfin Real Estate and reviewed by Stacker, current as of August 5th, 2025.

House prices have hovered near record highs for months, pushing affordability to new lows. But that hasn’t stopped ultra-wealthy buyers from splashing the cash.

With deep pockets and relative insulation from today’s uncertain market, many affluent buyers are leaning into real estate as a tangible investment. California, Florida, and New York lead in these ultra-luxury sales, regularly posting $20 million-plus transactions, though many other areas have seen record-setting sales.

Here are some of the most expensive home sales in the Savannah metro area so far in 2025, according to data from Redfin Real Estate. Afterwards, we’ll look at the most expensive sales nationwide for comparison. All data is current as of August 5th. Homes with a disclosed sales price were included.

    1. 213-219, 301-312 W 31st St Savannah, GA 31401: Sold for $6,050,000
    2. 23 W Gordon St Savannah, GA 31401: Sold for $5,890,000
    3. 202 E Gwinnett St Savannah, GA 31401: Sold for $5,318,000
    4. 224 Houston St Savannah, GA 31401: Sold for $5,250,000
    5. 440 Geo Meyer Ave Unit 2 Savannah, GA 31401: Sold for $5,058,989

The most expensive home sales of 2025: Nationwide

California and Florida consistently dominate the ultra-luxury market, with recent standouts like “The Manor” in Los Angeles – the state’s second-largest home at 56,500 square feet. Florida’s housing market has cooled significantly due to rising insurance costs and HOA fees tied to climate change, but it’s still a popular place for ultra-wealthy homebuyers who typically have the means to move, rebuild, or take a loss.

    1. 2200 Gordon Dr, Naples, FL 34102: Sold for $133 million
    2. 630 Nimes Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90077: Sold for $110 million
    3. 594 S Mapleton Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90024: Sold for $110 million
    4. 88 La Gorce Cir, Miami Beach, FL 33141: Sold for $74.3 million
    5. 4823 Kahala Ave, Honolulu, HI 96816: Sold for $65.8 million
    6. 71 Beverly Park, Beverly Hills, CA 90210: Sold for $63.1 million
    7. 66 La Gorce Cir, Miami Beach, FL 33141: Sold for $60 million
    8. 150 Charles St, Unit 9A, New York, NY 10014: Sold for $60 million
    9. 1028 Ridgedale Dr, Beverly Hills, CA 90210: Sold for $60 million
    10. 391 N. Carolwood Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90077: Sold for $57.3 million
