SAVANNAH – Sixth District Alderman Kurtis Purtee will hold a town hall meeting for residents on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. to provide an update on the Community Center at Windsor Forest.
The City announced the location of the new Community Center in April of this year. An advisory workgroup, comprised of representatives from local organizations and key City of Savannah personnel, was formed to help guide the development process.
The Community Center at Windsor Forest is part of the Southside/Windsor Forrest Community Recreation Facility initiative under the umbrella of Recreation Re-Imagined, a broader effort to update and reimagine recreational facilities citywide.
The selected site at 218 Windsor Road, formerly occupied by Woody’s Skate Park, offers a central location that is easily accessible to residents. The facility is expected to serve as a public space for community activities and recreation.
