“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints.”
Psalm 116:15

This notice of Episcopal Transition is as per the directive of the Presiding Prelate, Apostle W. B. Jefferson & Pastor, Dr. Carolyn A. Eliand.

The protocol of our great church directs the Adjutant General to release notices of Episcopal Transition only after close consultation with the Presiding Prelate, and the family of Deaconess Joann S. Byrd.  With love and respect, we have held close communication with Deacon Willie Byrd, the widower of Deaconess Joann S. Byrd.

God, who is omnipotent and omniscient, has summoned His Servant, Deaconess Joann S. Byrd, to eternal rest. Deaconess Joann S. Byrd served the New Greater Owens Temple Ministries Inc. Having been appointed to the Deaconess Board and the Adjutant Ministry of the Church and for many years, she faithfully served in her capacity.
As a renowned servant, Deaconess Joann S. Byrd was beloved, and endeared throughout Christendom. Her voice of love was highly sought out and treasured.

During this time of uncertainty, we request the continued prayers as well as acts of emotional and spiritual support for the family.

It is with great honor, that the National Adjutancy will assist the Byrd family, the New Greater Owens Temple Ministries Inc., and Bynes-Royall Funeral Home during this most difficult time.

“Blessed be the God, even the father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort.”
2 Corinthians 1:3

God has now granted her eternal rest, we rejoice om the confident knowledge that she is at peace.

“And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord,

who hath enabled me, for that he

counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry”.

1 Timothy 1: 12 (KJV)
