DA’SHAUN MARQUEL BING was born on January 6, 2003, at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, to Donald and Wannette Bing. He attended Sandalwood High School and graduated From Florida Youth Challenge Academy (FLYCA) in Starke, Florida, Class of 2019. He attended Bluewater Maritime School where he obtained his certifications to become a Merchant Seaman. He joined the Seafarers International Union in January of 2025 in Jacksonville, Florida. Da’Shaun grew up in church, attending St. Mark A. M. E. Church. In December of 2016, he joined and was baptized at Kingdom City Church of St. Marys, Georgia, under the leadership of Prophet Brian Keith Carn, Jr. He gave his life to Christ at the youthful age of 19 years old. He remained a member of KCC until Da’Shaun was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 6, 2025.

As a young man, Da’Shaun entered the workforce at Target Distribution Center in Midway, Georgia, before beginning his career as a merchant seaman with Norfolk Dredging in Norfolk, Virginia. 

Da’Shaun is a beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle, and loyal friend.

Da’Shaun was preceded in death by his loving grandfathers, Lewis Osborne, Sr., and Donald E. Bing, Sr.; great-grandfather, John O. Harris; great-grandmother, Ruby L. Bing; and one uncle, Vexter Bing.

Da’Shaun leaves his legacy to his only son, Zy’Mier Josiah Kyree Trafton. He is survived by his loving, devoted mother, Wannette Smith; father, Donald (Selena) Bing, Jr.; loving grandmothers, Lynette G. Cook-Osborne, affectionately known as “G-Ma,” and Faye Bing; grandfather, Warren (Gracia) Williams; great-grandfather, Willie D. Cook (Leona); siblings, Tamaria Stevens and Janel Brown; bonus siblings, Freteria Smith, Fre’Yaunna Smith, Fredrick Smith, Jr., Fre’Daysha Reynolds, Clifton Alexander, Allison, and Nicholas Mercer; uncles, Lewis (Elisiana) Osborne, Jr., Damian Osborne, and Warren (Chauncey) Williams; aunts, Lakeisa (Corey) Kemp, Whitney C. Holmes, and Symeria (Demetrius) James; special great-uncles, Elm (Gloria) Harris and Calvin Williams, Sr.; great-aunts, Pamela (Dennis) King, Edna Greene, Aurelia Powell, Othelia E. Ashley and Gwendolyn McDonald; great-uncles, Kelvin (Althea) Cook, Aaron Robinson, and Wallace (Albertha) McDonald; nephew, Mason Smith; godsister, Shayla Blake; godson, Uzziah James; godparents, John (Willa) Lewis, Alphonso(Cynthia) Atkinson, Elliott (Ida) Tate, Brinder Grant, and Vanessa Walker; spiritual mentors, Clifton ( Stacy) Alexander, Bishop Curtis (Joye) Stacey, Victor (Tracey T. T.) Sapp, and Prophetess Angella Jackson; special family friend and mentor, Leroy Alexander III; special friend, Nasaya Richardson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
