    Key takeaways
    • Morgan Freeman returns as Thaddeus Bradley, bringing gravitas and emotional reunion moments with the cast.
    • Ruben Fleischer directs a globe-spanning magical heist uniting original Four Horsemen and a younger generation of illusionists.
    • The plot centers on exposing antagonist Veronika Vanderberg (Rosamund Pike) amid twists, groundbreaking illusions, and intergenerational teamwork.

The Now You See Me franchise returns with its biggest story yet, and with it comes a heartfelt reunion: Morgan Freeman stepping back into the role of Thaddeus Bradley. HipHollywood sat down with the legend himself as well as the cast and director to talk about reuniting for the third installment.

“We had so much fun on the first two,” Freeman said. “And watching my character morph in each one, it was very interesting writing.”

Dave Franco, now three films deep alongside Freeman, reflected on the impact of working with him. “To this day, it’s hard to get over like, oh, wow, I’m working with this legend,” Franco said. “He just brings this weight to everything he does… especially in this film, where he’s laying out the stakes of this whole film. And there’s no one better to do that than Morgan Freeman.”

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the film brings together Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, alongside newcomers Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt, Rosamund Pike, and Freeman for a globe-spanning magical heist.

Fleischer described one of the production’s most emotional moments: “One of my favorite scenes is when Isla’s character, Henley, first sees Morgan and they rush to each other and embrace. I think that was Isla more than her character. We were all just so happy to see and work with Morgan again.”

In the new chapter, the Four Horsemen unite with a younger generation of illusionists for a mission that pushes their craft further than ever before: exposing Veronika Vanderberg (Rosamund Pike), a diamond heiress entangled with arms dealers and warlords. Guided by the legendary Thaddeus, both generations must overcome their differences to defeat a cunning adversary in a heist packed with twists, turns, and groundbreaking illusions.

“Now You See Me, Now You Don’t” — in theaters now.
