Game On: Sports News, Highlights & Commentary

The Minnesota Vikings and their quarterback discussion are not going anywhere anytime soon.

First-year starter Mike McCarthy had a rollercoaster 2025 season, highlighted by poor play and injuries, which prevented him from proving himself. Production value aside, McCarthy not being available is perhaps his biggest drawback for the 2026 season.

Many people expect the Vikings to bring in a veteran backup behind McCarthy. But what if they get aggressive and make a trade for a star? The Athletic’s Mike Sando spoke to an NFL agent, who did not disclose his name, and hinted that perhaps the Baltimore Ravens trade away their MVP quarterback.

An under-the-radar landing spot? The Minnesota Vikings.

He shared, “The agent loved Minnesota as an under-the-radar destination. The Vikings would send J.J. McCarthy to Baltimore as part of the deal, giving both QBs a fresh start. Jackson on artificial turf, in a dome? Look out.”

Jackson has been thrown around a lot in discussions about being moved, seemingly out of nowhere. Whether or not the Vikings are the ones to be aggressive and make a move remains to be seen.
