Savannah Chatham County Public School System (SCCPS) Update:

    Key takeaways
    • Exploring programs overseen by Scouting America provide career-based mentorship for youth aged 10–20.
    • Hospitality and Culinary Arts Explorers sponsored by North Point Hospitality Group; Healthcare Sciences Explorers sponsored by South University.
    • Programs teach life and career skills, character, and leadership through immersive experiences and mentorship by community and business leaders.

On Thursday, April 23, 2026, around 50 students gathered in the Media Center at Woodville-Tompkins Technical and Career High School to be recognized at the Hospitality & Culinary Arts and Woodville Healthcare Sciences Explorers Culminating Breakfast. Explorer Post sponsors, business partners, and volunteers were also recognized. Student participants received their Explorer Post Certificate of Completion.

Exploring programs, overseen by Scouting America, provide exciting activities and one-on-one mentorship for youth looking to discover their future. Exploring functions as a career-based affiliate program focused on mentorship for young men and women aged 10–20. Local businesses, agencies, and organizations act as the direct sponsors for individual posts, while Scouting America provides the official charter, framework, and support.

The Hospitality and Culinary Arts Explorers at Woodville-Tompkins are sponsored by North Point Hospitality Group. Healthcare Sciences Explorers are sponsored by South University.

Exploring exists to teach important life and career skills to young people from all backgrounds through immersive career experiences and mentorship provided by community and business leaders. The programs aim to equip young people with character, leadership and life skills that can be used both today and in their future careers.
