2026 Groves High School Valedictorian Trinitee Fair was awarded two prestigious and highly competitive scholarships this year – the Gates Scholarship and the Questbridge National Merit Scholarship. The Gates Scholarship is a highly competitive, “last-dollar” full-ride program funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. It is designed to support outstanding minority high school seniors from low-income households, covering the full cost of attendance not already covered by other financial aid and the student’s expected contribution.
The QuestBridge National College Match is a prominent college admission and scholarship program connecting high-achieving, low-income high school seniors with full four-year scholarships to 55 premier college partners. Awards are worth over $360,000 and cover tuition, room, board, books, and travel with no parental contribution required.
Out of tens of thousands of applicants nationwide, only 300 high school seniors are selected each year to receive the Gates Scholarship. Out of over 25,000 high school seniors who apply, only roughly 2,500 ultimately match with a partner college to receive a full four-year Questbridge scholarship.
Trinitee plans to attend Colby College in Waterville, Maine.
