George North announced in a video on X he will retire at the end of the season.
He said it is the right time and thanked his family, friends, teammates, coaches and supporters, ending with Diolch.
North said he had lived out his childhood dream playing with top players and staff and is excited for the next chapter.
Wales great George North has announced he will retire from rugby at the end of
the season.
The 34-year-old made his Wales debut as a teenager in 2010 and began his career with Scarlets and joined Northampton Saints in 2013, where he won the Premiership.
North retired from international rugby in 2024 with 121 caps for Wales and toured twice with the British and Irish Lions during his career.
He is third on Wales’ all-time men’s list for appearances for his country and the 47 tries he scored puts him second on the men’s list for try scorers.
