City of Savannah, Bee City Savannah to Host Pollinator Palooza Summer Festival

SAVANNAH – The City of Savannah is proud to support Bee City Savannah in hosting the Pollinator Palooza Summer Festival on Saturday, June 27, 9:00am – 1:00pm, at historic Forsyth Park.

Bee City Savannah, local affiliate of Bee City USA®, a program of the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, in partnership with the Forsyth Farmers Market, will coordinate the free, family-friendly event. The program will bring together conservation organizations, educators, gardeners, beekeepers, and community partners to celebrate pollinators and promote environmental stewardship.

“Savannahians are tasked with being good stewards over what we know to be the greatest city on earth,” said Mayor Van R. Johnson, II. “This festival will help ensure we are taking care of the precious natural resources that contribute to Savannah being a safe, environmentally healthy, and economically thriving community for all.”

Attendees may enjoy hands-on activities, educational exhibits, wellness experiences, and opportunities to learn how pollinators support local ecosystems, food production, and biodiversity. Community partners will also share information on native plants, habitat creation, and simple ways residents can support pollinator health at home.

“Pollinator Palooza is an opportunity to connect people with the pollinators that play a vital role in our environment,” said Sade Shofidiya, Chair of Bee City Savannah. “We hope participants leave inspired to take small actions that make a big difference for pollinator conservation.”

The festival is free and open to the public.

For more information, visit www.beenevolent.ag/beecitysavannah or contact Ms. Shofidiya, Bee City Savannah, at info@beenevolent.ag.
