Style Spotlight: Looks, Trends & Fashion Inspiration

We are all BUSY people. And trying to find time to exercise can be like attempting to find a JENGA piece that won’t cause the entire tower to come crashing down. So then, to help you out, we are once more exploring the realm of quick and inexpensive fitness… this time, jump rope. Can 10 minutes of jumping rope really equal 30 minutes of jogging? Let’s investigate.

While the above question may sound like a wild thought. Truth be told, several fitness experts and professionals say it is not. Jumping rope can have you burning in no time flat!

And if you are just a beginner, no worries. Most jump rope beginners can manage 10-15 minutes. So then, can you derive some benefits? YES.

According to CrossRope.com, “Research shows that just 10 minutes of jump rope is equivalent to running an 8-minute mile, making it one of the most efficient calorie-burning exercises available. A vigorous jump rope session can burn up to 1,300 calories per hour—ideal for weight loss and fat-burning workouts.â€

Additionally, 12 years ago a study was published by Arizona State University. The findings were just as astounding and compelling. Through extensive research, “a 2013 study from Arizona State University comparing 10 minutes of jumping rope with 30 minutes of jogging. The findings indicated that 10 minutes of jumping or skipping is the equivalent of 30 minutes of jogging. Similar calories are burned and the test subjects both showed the same improvements in cardiovascular fitness.†That’s awesome!

So then, now that we know the science backs up jump roping being as good as jogging, it’s time to implement a plan. Are you ready to give jump rope a try? Alright let’s go! Here’s two workouts to get you started!

As Makayla mentions in her video, more is needed than just a few minutes of jumping. Of course, start small then work to expand your workout. Aim to eventually get to exercising around 30-45 minutes.

Additionally, in time start the journey and at times tough task of really looking over your diet. As they say, you can’t out work bad eating and nutrition. You can exercise for hours, but if you eat badly; then you undo all of your progress. Therefore, make consumption tweaks cutting out “junk food†and adding in healthier options. In time, you will start to feel and SEE the difference!
