Getting in shape without spending a lot of money just got a little easier in Atlanta. The Beltline recently expanded its fitness program with hundreds of free classes and other fitness options along the trail. The expansion comes after 2.5 million people visited the Beltline in 2025 alone.
The program is the biggest of its kind in the city and does not require a membership to participate. Courses include such options as Core and More, King of Pops Yoga, Zumba/Hip Hop Cardio and Pilates on Ponce. You can take adult swim lessons, be a part of a running club and learn to skate or ride a bike. The classes – which are offered for every age group from toddlers to seniors – take place outdoors on the Beltline and in surrounding parks.
In addition to working up a sweat, you can also boost your knowledge in educational sessions like Walk with a Doc, a free event held the last Saturday of every month, which pairs a physician-led talk on a certain health topic with a walk along the trail.
And on select Saturdays in spring and summer, there are guided bike tours of the Northwest and Southwest trails. Trained local guides teach participants about the art, history and neighborhoods along the trail as they cycle beside them. The guided tours require a $25 registration fee and reservation through beltline.org.
