Tomorrow’s Tech, Today: Innovation That Moves Us Forward

    Key takeaways
    • American Horror Story: 13 resurrects characters from Murder House, Cult, Coven, Freak Show, and elements of Hotel.
    • No clear sign of Roanoke returning, though Ryan Murphy has called it his favorite season.
    • The announced supporting cast includes Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, Joey Pollari, Paul Anthony Kelly, Mena Suvari, and Orlando Jones.
    • American Horror Story: 13 premieres September 24 on FX and Hulu.

The gang’s all here in the latest trailer for American Horror Story: 13, which sees multiple characters from the show’s colorful past returning to face “terrifying and vengeful death,” aimed in particular at the Coven witches but probably not exclusive to them, either. We get the legendary John Waters (playing an as-yet-unknown role) reminding us that “13 stands for instability and chaos,” followed by Billie Lourd (as Cult‘s Winter) snarking on how much 13 is leaning into 13.

We also see Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Evan Peters, and more devouring scenery at will, Twisty the Clown wreaking bloody havoc, and hints of a monster rising from the shadows. In other words, Ryan Murphy Easter eggs abound. Check it out:

American Horror Story: 13 was already known to be bringing back characters from Murder House, Cult, Coven, and Freak Show for sure, and Hotel will definitely be getting some love too; we’d know that leopard-print coat anywhere, not to mention that dapper vintage serial-killer mustache. (No obvious signs of the polarizing Roanoke, which Murphy has said is his favorite season.)

The rest of the cast includes Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, Joey Pollari, Paul Anthony Kelly, Mena Suvari, Orlando Jones, and no doubt many more. Will you be tuning in for the Avengers-style crossover that is American Horror Story: 13? It premieres September 24 on FX and Hulu.
