Budget Amendment for Salary Supplements Approved
On January 15, 2026, Governor Brian Kemp announced a one-time $2,000 salary supplement (bonus) for all state-funded Pre-K-12 educators, administrators, and support staff, as part of the FY 2026 budget. The Board approved a budget amendment to provide the supplement to all employees of the District, including positions that are not state funded. A supplement will also be provided for part-time staff and staff with temporary employment agreements at a commensurate amount.
CCRPI Report
At the regular meeting of the board, the board heard a report on the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI). SCCPSS achieved gains over last year in elementary grades Content Mastery, middle grades Readiness, and high school Readiness. Student of the Month Recognized
The Superintendent’s Student of the Month for February is Ellyta Korankye, an 8th grader at Pulaski K-8. Congratulations, Ellyta!

Superintendent’s Professional Senate Report
A report from the latest meeting of the Superintendent’s Professional Senate was presented by our District Teacher and Instructional Support Persons of the Year.
April is National School Library Month.
The Board proclaimed the month of April as National School Library Month to recognize Library Media Technology Specialists who actively encourage students to read to expand their abilities, interests, and curiosity in the world they live in and beyond. SY 26-27 Bell Schedule Amendments Approved
The Board approved bell time modifications to accommodate school movement due to construction projects to begin in the 2026-2027 school year. Bell-time adjustments will support transportation needs and route updates.

Playground Equipment Approved
Heard, Brock, Gadsden, Marshpoint and Southwest schools will receive new playground equipment thanks to contract approvals at the April board meeting. The equipment will replace aging infrastructure and ensure safe, age-appropriate outdoor play areas for students. The contract was awarded to PlayPower LT Farmington, Inc., c/o Playworx Playsets, LLC.
Policy First Reads
Board Policy GAC: Staff Involvement in Decision Making (4-Year Review)
No policy changes. Pursuant to Board Policy BDE- Policy Review, District Administration has reviewed Board Policy GAC. There are no changes recommended for Board Policy.
Board Policy GBIA: Teacher Evaluation Appeals (4-Year Review)
Pursuant to Board Policy BDE- Policy Review, District Administration has reviewed Board Policy GBIA. There are no material changes recommended for Board Policy.
Board Policy GALB: Compensation (4-Year Review)
Pursuant to Board Policy BDE- Policy Review, District Administration has reviewed Board Policy GALB and has determined changes are needed. There are no material changes to policy language. The singular change to policy is the removal of a redundant title section.
Board Policy IFBG: Internet Acceptable Use (Social Media Policy SB351)
District Administration has reviewed Board Policy IFBG along with the supporting regulation. There are no changes recommended for Board Policy. The Administrative Regulation has been updated for alignment with SB 351 that requires a Social Media Policy wherein Districts may choose to include the social media policy as a subset of the Acceptable Use Policy. Policy IFBG – Internet Acceptable Use has been updated.
Board Policy EGAG: Unemployment Compensation (4-Year Review)
Pursuant to Board Policy BDE- Policy Review, District Administration has reviewed Board Policy EGAG. There are no changes recommended for Board Policy.

Policy KMB: Possession of Weapons By Visitors (Mid Period Review) Policy Changes Recommended District Administration has reviewed Board Policy KMB and determined changes needed to update policy with language concerning Weapon-free and Violence-free School Safety Zone postings to align with current District Practices.

Board Policy GBA: Professional Personnel Compensation Guides and Contracts
Pursuant to Board Policy BDE- Policy Review, District Administration has reviewed Board Policy GBA and determined that revisions are necessary to expand on the definition of OCGA § 47-3-127, compensation related to “Acting Assignments”, and the addition of Salary Additives.

Office Supplies Catalog
The Board approved the award of RFP 26-15 Office Supplies Catalog Discount (Annual Contract) to Lakeshore Learning Materials, LLC, School Specialty, LLC, Staples Contract & Commercial, LLC (Framingham, MA); and VIP Office Furniture and Supply, Inc. at an estimated total cost of $1,260,000.00.
Annual Contract For Nursing Services Approved
The Board approved the award of RFP #26-09 Nursing Services (Annual Contract) to the firms of Infojini Healthcare, Inc., (Edison, New Jersey); Maxim Healthcare Staffing Services, LLC (Riverdale, Georgia); Soliant Health, LLC (Peachtree Corners, Georgia); The Stepping Stones Group (Chicago, Illinois); the Rose Group, Inc., dba Suwannee Medical Personnel (Savannah, Georgia); Focal Point Medical Staffing, Inc., (Raleigh, North Carolina); and RCM Technologies (USA) dba RCM Healthcare Services (New York, New York) for a one-year period with two (2) additional one-year renewals, for an estimated first-year cost of $478,800
Student ID System Approved
At the regular session, the Board approved the award of RFP 26-13 Student ID System to Omicron Technology Solutions in an amount not to exceed $373,482.00, inclusive of implementation, equipment, supplies, and first-year maintenance, with an annual recurring cost of $88,500.00 for one-year period with the option to renew two (2) additional one (1) year renewal options.
ESPLOST UPDATES
ESPLOST IV Bloomingdale ES
The Board approved change order #2 in the total amount of $689,250 to James W. Buckley and Associates for additional design services for the building and site modifications to convert Bloomingdale Elementary into a K-8 School.
ESPLOST V Gamble Road Projects
The Board approved a guaranteed maximum price of $22,631,621 for RFP C26-05 CMR Services for Gamble Road Projects to Reeves Young, LLC.
